Every morning almost all of us follow the same trend. The alarm goes off scaring us yet another day with its loudness. The sweet dreamy state is shattered by the ear piercing sound making us feel agitated and glum. Kelly Duncan has designed a multifunctional product named Awake which will serve a lot of purposes in one go. Awake as the name suggests will stir you every morning gently. It is actually a dawn stimulator alarm which uses sounds of the user’s choice as well as soft lights that illuminate gradually. This way the sudden screaming of a traditional alarm clock that can make anyone jump from the bed takes a backseat.
Leaving winter behind, you might not be interested in a heating system anymore, but the latest heating system concept by designer Allan George invariably attracts the attention with its unique and refreshing design.
We know there is something tacitly wrong with this world when they don’t allow mobile phone conversations (and that too for a very good reason) while driving. While on the other hand, advanced yet distractive conceptions, like Chinavasion’s new rear view mirror with integrated features like Bluetooth and touchscreen, fluently make their way into the thriving electronics market.
Styluses (those ubiquitous small pen-shaped instruments) have been eternally there as the primary input device for a plethora of personal digital devices, starting from the Nintendo DS consoles to Windows smart phones. Conceived as a component of a meticulous solution for home energy requirements, this is the ChimChum wind generator designed by second year student Tom Postlethwaite. According to the designer, he used wind as a part of energy solution because it provides the simplest and most effective form of power when paired with a relevant technology. We tend to agree with him; with the relevant and convenient technology in this case of course being his conception.
Videos are an important part of our life-they help escape from reality, share experiences and keep memories. But most don’t capture the complete environment- just the objects your pointing at. The GoPano Micro changes this- it captures full 360 degree video of your environment, ensuring every part of your experience is recorded. And the best part of it? Its an iPhone add-on; anyone with an iPhone can use it.
Japan is a place of constant innovations. Probably the world’s only country with the most sophisticated technologies, Japan has used technology in public life too. Take for example, the Shikansen – the bullet train. Defying laws of speed, this bullet train has revolutionized the way people travel. Cutting short miles and miles of distance in a matter of minutes, the Shikansen is a modern day solution for time-constrained people. So it would not be a surprise to hear about bus travel in Japan that adopts the theories and principles of air travel. Willer Express is a one of a kind bus service in the world.
